Dear Seb

[The paper that the letter is written on is not the usual paper it that Midnights writes on. This one was ripped and torn here and there and was scrunched up a few times]

Dear Sebastian

Hi this is Midnight sorry I haven't written for a while... You see I have been in hospital for some time and this is the best paper they have here...

Well i'm guessing here but the first question that popped in your head was why was she in there? Well I can tell you that in a word my dumb drank Father.

It happened a week ago.. It was Friday night so of course my Farther was in the pub. It was 12pm when he came home from that I knew something was wrong usually he didn't came back till  4 50 or something well he came home and shouted at me to get in the car Shandi was barking his head off I didnt come out he was already drunk well he came in to the house and dragged me out and threw me into the car I knew he shouldn't be driving I told him so but he hit me. He kept going on about paying his dept. I dont want to know what that had to do with me. Well he went to fast  a corner came up he didnt brake he didnt do anything. He just kept going and then the car crashed. I had a inch of glass in my head and in my arms. My dad had it much worse he is still in care a docter at his side every minute and they all look at me as if I was the one too blame.

I still dont know what happened to Shandi no one came in to tell me  ehat happened to him. Thats about it.

From a very annoyed Girl.

Re: Midnight

Dear Midnight,

That's unfair. I think your school should have sports as well as small classes. Math and writing can go die in a hole for all I care. They canceled your gymnastics tournament? Why? I think you should say something to the adminstrators. I know that's what I would do.

Ciao, Sebastian

To Sed

Thats Grate news! I wish I was a captain of well... ANYTHING! You see my school dosnt think sports or "small" class's are important they think only think that stuff like math and writing is important. Writing I can do it is the maths that bothers me. All well I will live I guss.. But the THING that I really hate is that they cancelled the Gymnastics torment GGRRR. Thanks for liking my art I love comments.

Waves from Midnight

PS The dogs are going really well =].

Dear Paige

Dear Paige,

Yes, Shep isn't just a lovable, cuddling dog. He loves to play, especially when it comes to fetch. The puppies are ADORABLE! Shep's little girlfriend Abella just had puppies! They are soo cute!
(From left to righy): Lucifer, Lucky, Lady, and Lucy. All "L" names. They are hyperactive but they keep Shep and Abella busy.
What're Ranger and Misty's puppies names?

Sincerely, Cassie

To Midnight:

Dear Midnight,

That's good to hear, I'm glad they listened!
Hahaha it looks good, your an amazing artist! What am I doing in school? Well I don't pay attention much except for sports. I'm captain of the lacrosse team ;)

RE: Lillian

Dear Lillian,

I only know about Poseidon, Zeus, Hades and Apollo. Poseidon is the lord of water, Zeus of the sky, Hades rules the dead(?), and Apollo of music? I don't know, I learned some of them this year, but forgot a lot! :/ Your family must be rich if you can shop 5 days a week! I usually only shop once of twice per week. I live in a beautiful place where their is a great view of the scenery, but I save money for a special college. I'm planning on going to the US for college, specifically in Yale. What about you?

Sincerely, Stephanie Quinn

RE: Stephanie

Dear Stephanie,

You seriously have never read that series?! HAHA omg but you live in Greece! You should definately read them! Well do you know a lot about Greek Mythology (regarding the fact that you've never read the Percy Jackson series)? & OMG. Shopping everyday would be the life! But no, I do not every day, only 5 days a week. *tear* Sad stuff, right? You should see my wardrobe- it's HUGE! Because I shop so much, you know?! :) How many days a week do you go shopping?

From,

Lillian

RE: Cass

Dear Cass,

So your dog fetches also?? That's cool! And yes, Ranger took it from Misty. Misty is usually more swift, while Ranger is stronger. But they both are a joy to have around.

These are Ranger and Misty as puppies!
These two are Ranger and Misty's parents. Fido(top; father) and Angel(bottom; mother). As you can tell, Ranger and Misty don't look like their father, but have his strength and speed. Angel was smart and could tolerate loud noises. I guess they both have the features of a hunting dog?

Is that just a coincidence??

Anyways, what about Shep??

Sincerely, Paige Donovan

To Seb

Dear Seb

SUCCESS! The moment I brought Shandi all the dogs lisened I think they are scared of him. He he.

Hey I lived through your temper and you have me! Don't you.

I had to draw someone I never saw in art so I chose you. Sorry about the shirtless thing my art teacher wanted it that way. What are you doing in school?

Smiles from Midnight

[ Oh please ignore the name and date in the bottom right corner  it is just your imagination =P]

Reply: Paige

Dear Paige,

Meh, a little too much TLC can get annoying sometimes. Thankfully, Shep, likes to cuddle with my parents other than myself! Your dogs are cute! Did Ranger steal that stick from Misty? Hahahah.

Here's shep, waiting for me to throw his yellow tennis ball!

Sincerely, Cass

Dear Rina

Dear Rina,

I guess if your house isn't far it's not bad. Cedar trees are boring. Especially if there are a lot of them. I prefer maples, but I guess since cedar's don't change during the seasons... hahaha. I don't think I've ever seen a cherry blossom before, than again I don't keep track of trees.

Golden week sounds fun! I wish we had one of those, but, we don't. It sucks that your teachers assign homework during that time! Mine usually don't assign too, too much. Actually, I've rarely had homework recently! I think that theme park is the only one around. It's an hour away but we usually have fairs from time to time!

I'll be staying for a week! I can't wait to go! What do you have planned so far and I'm sure it'll be great!

Caroline

Dear Midnight

Dear Midnight,

Thanks! I appreciate your support. It means a lot. I mean, my dad doesn't care and I don't want my mom to know, not that I even know where she is, and I don't have much friends, as you probably know... my temper.

Your job seems really hard! The farm dogs seem like a real handful. Good luck with training them! It sounds like your going to need it! I hope Shandi is able to help the dogs become easier to train!

Good luck again,
Seb

RE: Lillian

Dear Lillian,

You live in Paris?!? I'm SOOO jealous! I've wanted to go there my entire life! And no, I haven't read the Percy Jackson series. And I know like nothing about Greek Mythology, haha! ;) You'd expect someone that lives in Greece to know about all of that! I have a question for you. Do you shop every day? That would be the dream.. :)

Sincerely, Stephanie Quinn

Dear Stephanie

Bonjour! My name is Lillian May, your pen pal! I live in Paris with my mom and two sisters, one younger and one older! All of us love fashion, which is quite convenient considering Paris is one of the most famous fashion centers in the world! And you live in Greece? That's awesome! I've always wanted to go there! Greek Mythology really fascinates me! Have you ever read the Percy Jackson series? Read them, and you will fall in love! I promise you that much! In fact, Greece isn't very far from Paris? Well, at least it's not as far away as it can be! Anyways, have you ever been to Paris? You'd love it, ligit! Hah, well it's time for another shopping spree!

Sincerely,
Lillian May

RE: Cass

Dear Cass,

I wish my dogs cuddled a lot, it must seem really cool to have a dog cuddling beside you. And I take a lot of pictures of my two dogs. Here is one!

Ranger's in the front, Misty in the back.

Sincerely, Paige Donovan

RE: Jake

Dear Jake,

Wow, that seems fun to help out! I wish I had the time, but my parents always make me work on the farm before homework, and if I finish working on the farm I hang out with friends. Your life seems so interesting, one day I wish to go to Chicago or New York and see the big city they have.

Sincerely, Amber Monroe

RE: Caroline

Dear Caroline,

Yeah, it's pretty bad, working late a night, but my house is close, so it's not that bad. Cedar trees are cool! We don't have many of those trees out here, so we think any other types of trees cherry blossoms are all really awesome!

Golden week is basically a string of holidays that are close to each other, that happen on April 29, and May 3-5. It's a great time to relax and just sleep all day, but unfortunately, our teacher assigns a lot of homework during this time. Ugh. Roller coasters? Sounds fun! We don't have many theme parks around here, and a lot of them are far away from where I live, so I don't go to them that much. The Corkscrew looks really fun!

I can't wait for you to come! How long will you stay here? What do you want to do? I'll start planning things to do, it'll be great!

To Sed

Dear Seb

Sed that's is great news! I wish you luck hopefully you can get in, by the way you were bragging I think that you are great!

Here in NZ farm dogs need to jump fences it is really handy  WHEN they are trained now that they don't lisen it is a night mare! first one jumps over then i have to go over and chase them back the moment  im on the right side of the fence another one jumps. I think they are working in teams. Then when the lesson is over im just muddy the dogs are just happy to annoy me again and again but i still get payed!   Yay next time I am taking Shandi with lets see how that turns out hehehe.

From tired Midnight.

Re: Midnight

Dear Midnight,

I'm glad your dad cool'd down. Mine's a real pain, we just got in an argument about mom. He wants her back but I told him he can shove it. I don't really like my parents, but than again, they probably don't like me. And I'm perfectly fine with that.

Congrats on your job. It sounds like a handful. Good luck on catching your dog! In Florida, nothings really going on. I talked to the sports scout and he says I may have a chance when I get older, so, good luck to me as well!

Ciao, Seb

Dear Seb

Dear Seb

Thank you for writing to me. My farther cooled down finally, that means im off the hook for now. there is one good thing about  my farther he has a very short memory.

I got a job at a farm im training all the dogs there. here are their names, Queen, Soring, Storm, Chocolate and little Candy. And trust me they are a handful most of the time I'm running after one or the other.

That's about it what happened at your part of the world?

Happiness from Midnight.

To Midnight

Dear Midnight,

Yeah, I saw. He sent me a letter though it went right into the trash. How will he know where to look? I live in Florida, no where near New Zealand, I think you'd be safe.

I'll send this letter to the address you sent me. Glad to know you still want to write me, even though I was so unfriendly to you before. Thanks for forgiving me.

Yours Truly, Seb

Monday 23 May 2011

Midnight is Back!

Dear Seb
My Father got your letter before me! But I grabbed it from the trash and read it. Thank you for asking me to stay.Thank you for being nice to me. But I think my Father mite notice me gone and he will know where to look.

But I'm not letting him beat me into place. From now on I will write to you in school time and send my letters myself. Can you please send yours to 64 Black St. Auckland. New Zealand. it is an house of an old.old couple they live right next to my school and they never get out to look for mail. So I can take it after school read it on the way home and replie the next day at school. Please do it.

Thanks for wanting to lump my Farther that really really means something to me! And so many guys dont really care what happens to us girls, it is nice to know someone cares. And I think it is great that you got talent scout waiting to sign you up. And you are forgiven.

Reply to Sebastian From Father.

Dear Sebastian
I don't know what my daughter is writing to you but I'm not a abusive father. AND she will not be going to live with you. She is 14 I will not let her write to you again.

From Dave

Re: Midnight

Dear Midnight,

I'm sorry to hear about your mother. It seems like mine died too, as long as she's out of my life, dead or alive, I don't care. I'm also sorry about your father. If I met him I'd probably lump him once or twice. I can't stand when guys touch girls. I'm also sorry for being mean to you.. I guess I let my temper get to the best of me before I actually got to know you. I'm guessing Shandi is the only family you really got and it's sad that you have to lock her up, if my father was abusive and Max wanted to bite him, I'd let 'em, but than again I wouldn't want him to get taken away either.

I'm truly sorry I was mean to you, I shouldn't have let my lid fly off. I didn't mean to be that cruel to you, maybe you could... possibly come out here to Florida. I know my father wouldn't mind. He doesn't care about me, and having an abusive father may persuade him to let you stay.
I'm truly sorry.

Sincerely, Seb

Re: Rina

Dear Rina,

The late shift? Isn't that the worst time to work, you know thieves and creeps and everything that goes bump in the night? Haha. The blossoms sounds beautiful! I wish I could be there, but here. We don't have beautiful trees unless you call cedar trees beautiful. No, no they're not.

What's a Golden Week? It sounds interesting! Lucky! The beach with your school? The closest thing we have to an amazing field trip like that is a trip to Playland near the end of the year. It's pretty cool actually, the rollercoasters are frightening, especially the Wooden one since it's old.
This is a picture of the Corkscrew. It's the second frightening.
Very soon I will be coming to Japan. Last night my mom came home early and I told her about you and the "Pen Pal Program" at my school. She says it's interesting and that she's actually taking a buisness trip to Japan next month and that I can go! Exciting, eh?

Sincerely, Cari

RE: Sebastian

Dear Sebastian

My Mother died when I was 2. My Father takes his anger out on me because i look like her. I have more bruises then you can imagine.

I have to lock up Shandi every night when he comes home drunk, otherwise Shandi will bite him and then Shandi dies. If I could go away don't you think I would have? Writing letters to you is the only time I have to write or talk to someone, Father only lets me do this is because it is school work.

So make fun of me. So be cruel to me the only reason I'm staying is because what ever you give to me I will take hundreds of times to get out of what he is going to give me. Have a good life.

From Midnight.

RE: Caroline

Dear Caroline,

Really? I'm sorry you have people like that in your café. The store I work at is pretty interesting, although nto a lot of people come in when I work, since I work the late shift. The first cherry blossom bloomed today, I wish you could be here to see it! Sooner or later the streets are gonna be littered with pink. Ugh.

Summer's just around the corner, I'm pretty excited, and this week is Golden Week! I have a lot of free time because of it, and it's really great. I might head off to the beach with my class tomorrow for a class trip thing, but we're not really sure yet.

Wish you could visit soon, I'm really dying to see you! Hope that you have a great rest of the week, I also have to study for tests next week, so I gotta go! Bye!

Rina

RE: Amber

Dear Amber,

That's really cool! I would love to learn how to ride horses, but it's pretty hard here, there isn't a lot of flat land, and if there is, then it's in the city, already covered with buildings and the lot. There actually isn't much to do here, so I don't really have a lot to talk about. There's some construction going on near my school, I might go and help out there, so I won't be able to write many letters. In fact, they're calling me over right now! ><

Zai jian for now,
Jake

RE: Paige

Dear Paige,

Yes. Yes he does. He was actually trained to save people in the moutains so were often hiking and walking with him or taking him skiing and snowboarding with us. Other than that, he just cuddles. I get A's and B's nothing less and nothing more. I don't try super hard in school unless it's for exams. And if it wasn't hard to get straight A's than kids that skip school and slack off could be getting A's if it were easy. And sometimes I take pictures, I used to take pictures of nature but my camera broke and my new one, which is technically not new, since it was used and is very suckish. Well I use it to take pictures of animals. I have a lot of pictures of Caroline's pet's weird enough.

Sincerely, Cass

RE: Cassie

Dear Cassie,

Does Shep do anything besides cuddling??
Yeah, I hate when people call me a dumb blonde, I'm not all that dumb! I get A's in school, but its quite hard for me. And I don't really have the guts to do something to someone that makes fun of me. But oh well.. Anyways, do you take pictures?

Sincerely, Paige Donovan

RE: Paige

Dear Paige,

I have tried hunting with them, but I don't like harming animals even if it's for food and such. I don't let them push me around, I know how to stick up for myself and they know it. ;)
Yeah, Shep is basically a giant teddy bear. He loves to cuddle. He's a big baby, haha. People call you a dumb blonde? That's horrible! I don't let people push me around, if anyone called me that I'd give them something to remember me by.. but that's just me.

Sincerely, Cass

RE: Cassie

Dear Cassie,

You should try hunting with them, don't let boys mess with you! My oldest brother let me hunt with him once, and ever since I have gotten my own guns for hunting. So Shep is a "real life teddy bear"? That would be sweet if anyone of my dogs would actually cuddly up to me. Instead, they always run outside and be a pest to neighbors. Everyone in my school says that all blonde's are dumb, it annoys me A LOT, but I stay quiet.

Sincerely, Paige Donovan

RE: Paige

Dear Paige,

I'm in the 9th grade as well. It's okay, it get's boring at times but hey, school is boring! That's interesting that you hunt, my brother's hunt all the time. Well, when it's legal too. I've been with them twice but they prefer if I didn't go since I talk to much. Oh well, that's brothers for ya! I love Australian Cattle dogs! I was going to get one but than I saw Shep and I knew he was the dog for me. You're probably smart! Don't let the "dumb blonde" stereotype become real! I don't want to be classified as a dumb blonde! Haha.

Sincerely, Cassie Petrova

RE: Cassie

Dear Cassie,

Wow you live so far away(as it seems)!

I live in Maine, and I am 14 years old, in the 9th grade(young in my grade). I have long blond hair and a tint of light blue eyes. Many people call me the 'sporty' types because I play each and every sport in some way. I even hunt! Hunting seems more like a boy type of thing, but with me two trusted dogs, I am amble to handle a gun. I have two Australian Cattle Dogs. They are twins! Ranger and Misty are their names! They are as close as... um... sticks and glue?? Haha I don't know, I'm not the smartest person in the world.

Sincerely, Paige Donovan

First Letter to Paige

Dear Paige,

Uhm, I've never actually written a letter to anyone, also meaning I've never had a pen pal so bare with me. I don't really know what to include but I guess I'll start off on talking about myself.

I'm 15 years old, and my best friend is Caroline. I have blonde hair that just goes passed my shoulders and I get a lot of compliments on my eyes. They're an aqua green-blue. I may seem like a girly-girl but I'm not. I play volleyball and I love it. I live in Canada and I have two pets. A Bermese Mountain Dog named Shep, who I love. He's like a big teddy bear. And a calico maine coon cat. She doesn't really like people and is quite independent but over the years she's warmed up to me.

Well I guess that's about it
Sincerely, Cassie

RE: Jake

Dear Jake,

That's really cool how you help people!

Anyways I teach a horse riding class. I usually ride Star, and let the student ride Maple. I teach them how to trot, canter, jump, etc! Its REALLY fun! I show them the proper way to whip a horse(yes there is a way) and I show them how to take care of horses. I'm also a photographer... well I take pictures of nature, scenery, life.

Wow, Taiwan is like on the other side of the world!

Sincerely, Amber Monroe

RE: Amber

Dear Amber,
Same here! I wasn't very excited about the assignment at first, but hey, now that I think of it, it's pretty cool.

I'm in tenth grade, a little older than you, but I go to a little-known school near the city of Taiwan. A lot of girls fawn over me, it's a fact, but I hope you won't call me a womanizer, since I hardly ever pay attention to them. I don't really do anything outside of school, except I pay for it by buying groceries for the people in my town who are unable to go to the city. Sometimes I open up a stand selling random things at the edge of my town, but that only happens about once a month. I don't have any pets, and the only real exercise I do is running around and stuff. I like wandering around in the forest, it gives me a really good sense of nature. I wish I could visit you some day, but America seems so far away right now!

What are your hobbies? I'd like to know...

Jake

First Letter to Lillian

Dear Lillian,

I don't know if this English assignment is world-wide, but its about pen pals. And I got you! You should know more about me...

I'm in 9th grade, have long brown hair, and amber eyes. I'm pretty sporty I guess.. I just don't always join in the sport. Instead I play them for fun. I have a 2 year old female dog named Winter, who is a Korean Jindo. She's pretty nice, I guess. She barks at birds that even touch our birdhouse, and is just protective.

About you??

Oh, I forgot!

I live in a small town in Greece.

Sincerely, Stephanie Quinn

First Letter to Jake

Dear Jake,

My English teacher assigned me a pen pal from across the world! So you mine-as-well learn more about me...

I'm in the 8th grade at the most popular school in the state! So I'm 13 years old, and one of the smartest kids in the school... not to brag. Anyways, outside of school I work on my family farm, The Monroe Ranch, and I even own some of the animals. I have Oscar, a 3 year old Weimaraner; Rose, a 3 year old Akbash; Tucker a 3 year old American Pit Bull Terrier; Lacee, a 3 year old Blue Lacy; Maple, a 5 year old chestnut colored horse; Star, a 5 year old black and white horse. Yeah.. a lot of pets, I know! I get that a lot, but you know that I'm a farm girl. Their are more animals at the farm... but my parents gave me those pets. I don't play any sports, but I think I get enough exercise working on the farm.

Anyways, about you??

Sincerely, Amber Monroe

Dear Midnight,

I don't need your pitty. I don't even want to talk to you but I have to, Mr Carvin says. But I pitty you for not getting the basic consept of go away.

I doubt you actually want to talk about the weather, nor do I but I will. It's raining here as well but it always does so it's nothing new. Sure, there's a God, but I don't want to talk what I believe, nor do I want to hear what you believe in.

My grandma's dead, I could celebrate that but that'd be cruel and I loved my grandmother. I don't have anything to celebrate since my mother is gone, I don't care where she is, she's just out of my life and that's all that matters and as for celebrating with my father. Let's just say I wish he was gone as well.

Cats are flea bags.
Sincerely, Sebastian

P.S I don't care

RE: Sebastian

Dear  Sebastian

Oh poor, poor Sebastian. I pity you. I really do. Now that you said that Im staying.

Seeing that we wrote about lots of things over and over again lets pick a new topic of conversion. Hey why dont we go to weather hay? Speck now to cancel... No one OK.

Here it is currently raining... for the last week. How about you?

Do you believe in God? I do.

Are you celebrating anything spacial? It is my grandmothers birthday next week.

Do you like cats?

From Midnight.

PS Im trying to be nice. To forgive you.

Response to Midnight

Dear Midnight,

I'm not scared of you. Your a girl. No girl has ever scared me and nor will you. I want you to go away 'cause you are a nuissance, that meaning you are annoying Do you get the picture?

No. That's me, cross-checking you into the glass. I hope it hurt. And I know hockey isn't the best sport out there. Soccer is. Atleast I can admit I'm full of myself, unlike you.
Sure other people matter. Everyone besides you.

Ta ta, Sebastian

RE: Sebastian

Dear Sebastian

Did I scare little, little Sebastian? Mmmm... Hehehe. To you go away means. To vanish, disappear, leave. So then dose max get to vanish, disappear, leave to you he dose.

Cool hockey pic. That's you against the glass isn't it! Ha!!

And hockey is not that great of a sport but do you know what is interesting how full of your self you are other people matter to you know.

Dear Midnight,

Go away. Ever hear of that term? Let me define it for you. Go away: To vanish, disappear, leave. TO YOU GET THE IDEA?

Yeah, yeah, you've got medals. BIG WHOOP! I can get trophies for spelling a word correctly at a spelling bee! That doesn't mean spelling is a sport!
Oh, and if I ever saw you, and you challenged me to hockey, this is what I'd do to you:
Sincerely, Boy Who Doesn't Care, Sebastian

P.S Max says go away.

RE:Sebastian

Dear Sebastian

Hi Im back just to annoy you. In case your wondering your advise helped a lot now because I started to listening in class I went up a year yay! Thanks.

Oh hockey is a great sport for you! I know this guy his foot was broken by a hockey ball in practise I cant wait to see what happens to you when you play a game!

Oh what ever you say about gymnastics, say it to my medals
Oh ya this is Shandi at work. Unlike Max he is allowed to do this.

Shandi says hi

Pain from Midnight ;]

Re: Midnight

Dear Midnight/The Time at Which I Get A Snack,

Yes, I can read, and it's fairly horrible. Just saying. Maybe you should get your head out of the clouds, or in your case, the night, and start listening in class.

I also play hockey. Did I forget to mention that? Hockey is in the Olympics as well and gymnastics is still not a sport. I don't find how leaping around a balance beam is a sport, and as for you beating me in baseball? HAH! I've a wicked throw. I'd like to see you even try to hit one of my throws. Incase your wondering, I've already a talent scout waiting to sign me and I'm not even done high school!

I'm pretty sure a rotty can beat a german sheperd. Like I said in my previous letter. Max probably killed a germen sheperd. Rotwielers are trained to guard and to kill. I don't see any police dogs killing anyone anytime soon.
I hope you don't write back soon,

Sebastian

RE:Sebastian

Dear Sebastian/Singing Crab

I can write on paper or you are just imaging this letter? I am failing because I already know the stuff the teacher is trying to the class, I just day dream a lot.

AND gymnastics is in the Olympics you reading this? OLYMPICS!!! I don't see football up here. And lots of girls play sports it is just you that cant see past your own nose! I can KICK your but at baseball any day.

AND for Shandi can take care for himself, he is a police dog. Once he broke a mans leg! After that your little max is nothing.

Smiles from Midnight.

Re: Rina

Dear Rina,

The café is so not interesting. We get a lot of wierdo's who just go in there to sit. Nothing else. They don't buy anything, they just... sit. Life in Canada is a drag. It's supposed to be sunny and hot, but nope. Canada doesn't want warm weather, we want rain and coldness. Yep, that's pretty much it.

School for me is alright. End of the year finals seem to be coming up real fast. I hope I don't fail. I kinda want my education to be great. Your 'rents seem strict. I live with my mother... my father died last year and I like I said in my previous letters, I don't see my mother often so I basically take care of myself. I can do whatever I like, but I prefer to keep myself within the boundaries for the time being. You work at a convience store? Awesome! Is it fun?

My hobbies... hmm.. let me think about that. Well mainly I'm into fantasy things, not so much the Twilight series but other things like that. I also love sports and I hope I can play for my school's soccer team. I'm excellent in net. I'm sure I'd be able to come to Japan soon! I mean, my mother travels around a lot, last week she was in Irelend for a conference, and sometimes she allows me to go!

Sincerely, Caroline

Re: Midnight

(Poppy, don't take any offense to any of Sebastian's letter. I am playing him as a mean character 'cause that's who he is. A mean kid. Though eventually he will become much nicer!)

Dear Midnight,

What kind of name is that? Though I shouldn't judge. I think my name is the same as a singing crabs...
I thought all girls were good in school. How come you're not good at writing on paper. It's easy. E-A-S-Y. See, I wrote easy on the paper. And well... it's easy.

And you play sports? Are you a tom-boy? I've never heard of a girl that plays sports. Aren't you all afraid to break your nails or to precious to get hit with a ball or something? I don't know, I'm not a chick. As for gymnastics. That's not a sport.

One question. Who in their right mind would dye their hair red?!?! As for me. I look like a dude, and I don't get your joke.

And for your dog. You have a germen sheperd? I think my dog killed one of those before, so I'd like to see your precious Shandi take on my Max.

Ciao, Sebastian

RE: Caroline

Dear Caroline,
A café! How interesting! I wish I could visit you some time, but my parents have a strict rule about me leaving the country, which sucks. Anyways, how's life been for you in Canada? It's getting quite warm here in Japan, I expect the cherry blossoms to bloom anytime soon.....

School's been a drag, and I mean it. It's so boring! I wish I could quit, but my parents also have a rule about that... Basically, I can hardly do anything right now except for work and study. *Sighs* Actually, I work at a convenience store near my house, and it pays really well, surprisingly.

What are you're hobbies? From living in Japan I've come to like anime and manga, they're pretty interesting. I also like to play sports, which I mentioned before. I'd like to know what you like to do, maybe you can come over some time and we can go, erm, do things!

Can't wait for your reply!
Rina

First Letter to Midnight

Dear, Who Cares

I'm Sebastian, and you probably don't care, as I don't, but I must get a good grade in all of my classes or I won't get a scholarship for when I graduate. So here I am. Writing you a pointless letter.

I don't work. I don't do anything besides playing sports. I play soccer, baseball, and football. Do you play any sports? Why did I ask that? You're a girl, so probably not. I'm not well-liked but I don't care. I like myself, and I like having a short-temper.

I have a dog. His name is Max. He is a rotweiler. He likes to bite people. He will bite you.

Sincerely, Sebastian

P.S sorry, I just don't care for writing letters.

First Response

Dear, Rina

Yeah, my teacher told me I had to write to a pen pal from across the world or I'd be officially failing English. It's not that I'm bad at it 'cause I want to be an author when I'm older, I just never show up.

It's cool that you're 14 as well, atleast I'm not talking to someone fairly young or a lot older. That would be odd. For me anyways. I have long, curly brown hair that goes passed my shoulders, and amber eyes that seem to change color in the light. I think I may have gotten that from my mother, but I don't see her enough to know. I love to play sports, well soccer anyways and I'm not that bad at track either. And I don't think you're weird, atleast not yet.

If you aren't weird, than you're normal. And everyone knows that normal is boring. I also have a pet. Two actually. A yellow lab cross bull mastiff named, Buddy. And an american tabby named Shade.
I live in Canada. Japan seems pretty far away. Is it busy there? I live pretty close to Vancouver and it's pretty busy there. As for my family, my brother Kaido is off fighting for the Candian forces and my mother is always off working. I rarely see her, and when I do, we never talk, as for myself, I work at a café.

Sincerely, Caroline

The First Letter... (LITERALLY :D)

Dear Caroline,

My teacher told me to write letters to a pen pal from across the world. A little strange, right? You're almost a total stranger to me. But I hope we'll be able to bond through these letters. Well, where should I start? I'll tell you a little about myself first...

I'm 14 years old, with pretty long, dark hair and dark eyes to match. Some people think I'm creepy, but that's OK with me. I'm pretty good in my studies, though I like sports better, and I do track and field. Do you do any sports? I also have a pet Asian box turtle named Bread, hope you don't find me weird! :/

I live in Japan, which is pretty far away from where you are, I presume. Actually, I live by myself in a small apartment in Tokyo; my parent's live in Kyoto and Osaka. They broke up about 3 years ago, and I didn't want to live with either one of them. Well, that's about all I have to say, I hope you reply soon, but for now, sayonara~!

Sincerely,
Rina Aishy

You are a student from across the world and your English teacher hands you a piece of paper as well as the other students in your class. He makes you all read it out loud. It is an assignment.
You're supposed to write to a kid from across the world. It sounds interesting and you agree.
